Terms of Service

knowhash Recruit  ·  Last updated September 29, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of knowhash Recruit (the "Service"), a browser extension and related web services provided by Optimum Internet Pty Ltd ("Optimum Internet," "we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are

knowhash Recruit is operated by Optimum Internet Pty Ltd, an Australian company (ACN 117 538 173), trading as "knowhash." The Service is offered under the knowhash brand; references to "knowhash" in these Terms mean Optimum Internet Pty Ltd operating under that name.

2. The Service

knowhash Recruit is a browser extension that helps recruiters and hiring professionals track candidates, capture and organise information sourced from LinkedIn, and manage recruitment workflows directly within their browser. Most of your data is stored locally in your browser rather than on our servers. Some functions — including account verification, licence status, and candidate-submitted document intake (kSIP) — do communicate with servers we operate.

We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time. We'll make reasonable efforts to tell you about material changes that affect how you use the Service.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Some features, including subscribing and sending candidate detail requests, require a one-time email verification for each installation. You're responsible for keeping your verification email and any generated backup passphrase secure — we cannot recover data protected by a lost passphrase.

You agree to provide accurate information when verifying your account and to keep it up to date.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

Plans. knowhash Recruit is offered on a monthly or annual subscription basis at the prices shown at checkout. Prices may change; we'll give you reasonable notice before a change affects your existing subscription.

Free month. Each new installation of knowhash Recruit includes 30 days of free access to its subscription features, starting from the first time the extension is used. No payment details are needed. When the free month ends, subscription features become unavailable unless you subscribe; the free messaging and template features remain available, and nothing stored in your browser is removed. Reinstalling, or using a different browser or device, does not entitle you to an additional free month, and we may decline to extend free access where we reasonably believe this is being misused.

Subscribing during the free month. If you subscribe before your free month ends, your first payment is normally taken on the day the free month ends, and you can cancel before then at no cost. If you subscribe in the final two days of your free month, or after it has ended, your first payment is taken when you subscribe.

Billing. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on your plan) until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the "Manage billing" option in the extension, which opens Stripe's secure customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you'll retain access until then, and you won't be charged again afterward.

Refunds. Fees already paid are generally non-refundable, including partial billing periods. If you believe you've been charged in error, contact us at feedback@knowhash.com and we'll look into it in good faith.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may flag your account as past due and attempt to process payment again. Continued failure may result in suspension of paid features until payment succeeds or you cancel.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes connected with legitimate recruitment or hiring activity. You will not:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any use we reasonably believe breaches this section.

6. Your Use of LinkedIn

knowhash Recruit operates within your browser while you use LinkedIn. It is your responsibility to ensure your own use of LinkedIn — including any data you view, capture, or message through it — complies with LinkedIn's Terms of Service and User Agreement. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for LinkedIn, and LinkedIn may change its platform in ways that affect the Service's functionality without notice to us.

7. Your Data

Most candidate and workflow data you create in knowhash Recruit is stored locally in your browser, under your control. Our Privacy Policy describes what limited data we do collect (such as your verification email and licence status) and how we handle it. By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of any candidate data you collect and store using the Service, including compliance with applicable privacy and employment laws in your jurisdiction.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Optimum Internet Pty Ltd or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. These Terms don't grant you any ownership in the Service — only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it in accordance with these Terms.

Data you create using the Service (candidate records, templates, notes) remains yours.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party services, including Stripe (payments) and LinkedIn (the platform the extension operates within). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, content, or conduct.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected. Nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Optimum Internet Pty Ltd will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Optimum Internet Pty Ltd harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right (including LinkedIn's terms or applicable privacy law).

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, including through prohibited use under Section 5. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though locally stored data on your device is not automatically deleted by us.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you (such as an in-extension notice or email). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.

16. Contact
